Sarah DeSantis, LCSW

About Me
Welcome! I’m Sarah DeSantis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy throughout Florida. I work with adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, eating disorders, overthinking, and life stressors.
Many of the people I work with appear high-functioning on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck internally. They are often intelligent, driven, and perfectionistic, but find themselves caught in patterns of overthinking, self-doubt, anxiety, or struggles with food and body image.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. These are some of the most common concerns I help clients navigate in therapy.
Whether your anxiety feels constant and overwhelming or your relationship with food feels complicated and frustrating, my goal is to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and make meaningful, lasting changes. I help intelligent, driven people who are exhausted by overthinking, anxiety, eating disorder symptoms, or self-doubt. Together, we’ll work toward a life that feels more manageable, intentional, and aligned with what matters most to you.

My Approach
My approach is warm, genuine, and supportive but I'm also going to help you make real changes. I believe therapy works best when you feel both supported and challenged, when there is space for self-compassion, but also room to honestly examine the patterns that may be holding you back.
Together, we will explore the deeper patterns driving what you’re experiencing while also building concrete skills to help you create meaningful change. I draw from evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring therapy to your individual needs and goals.
If you work with a dietitian, psychiatrist, life coach, or specialized doctor, I will likely ask to connect with them when it feels appropriate. I really believe collaboration and consistency in care help support the best results.
My Background
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Long Island University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. I have over ten years of experience providing therapy to individuals with eating disorders, anxiety, and related mental health concerns across multiple levels of care.
My professional experience includes working in various leadership roles within specialized treatment programs, including one of the nation’s leading eating disorder treatment centers. Most recently, I served as the Clinical Director of a residential treatment facility, overseeing clinical programming, supervising therapists, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care. I spent a couple of years working in a group private practice before I opened my own private practice.
I bring both clinical expertise and a highly individualized approach to my work, combining evidence-based therapy with thoughtful, personalized care.
In my free time, I love reading, travelling, and spending time with my family.
